Sunshine Coast Fishing Report | Friday 7 June 2024

Welcome to this week's Sunshine Coast Fishing Report. Our weekly report will now be published on Fridays instead of Thursdays. The weekend looks like a mixed bag of conditions for Sunshine Coast anglers. Inshore conditions are generally favorable with mostly sunny skies and cooler temps. Offshore, fishers should be cautious due to variable winds, making conditions potentially tricky. Be sure to check the latest weather updates before heading out.

Offshore

Recent reports from offshore fishos have included catches of Spanish Mackerel at the Barwon Banks. Cobia and Amberjack have been plentiful at Caloundra Wide, while Kingfish were reported at Cape Moreton. Closer to Caloundra, anglers have reported good catches of Snapper and Grassy Sweetlip

Noosa

The recent big tides and rain seem to have finally made a difference in the water quality of both the Noosa and Maroochy rivers. In the Noosa River, a few more catches than in the last few weeks have been reported, with plenty of Bream and Flathead on the chew. We've had reports of some nice Trevally being caught, and Tailor have also been caught in good numbers.

Maroochy

In the Maroochy River, we've also had reports of more action than in previous weeks. Cale Cale and Trevally are biting in good numbers, while some bigger Bream are starting to show up. Flathead and Bream continue to be caught in good numbers, along with some nice Tailor and Jewfish catches towards the mouth. Some nice Mangrove Jacks have also been reported in the mid to upper reaches.

Caloundra

Caloundra continues to fish well, with reports of Bream, Flathead, and Trevally around bridge pylons. Beach fishos have enjoyed some nice catches of Tailor and Dart.

Freshwater

Freshwater fishing remains quiet as the cold snap has kept the fish from biting.
