Welcome to this week's Sunshine Coast Fishing Report! Conditions on the Sunshine Coast haven't been too bad over the past week, with clear sunny days expected well into next week. Last weekend's full moon saw some big tides which resulted in some good fishing. Early tomorrow morning looks to be the pick for offshore, with winds picking up from late Saturday to well into next week. Remember the Snapper and Pearl Perch closure continues until the 15 August. Inshore fishos should check the forecast before heading out over the next week as windy conditions are also expected at times.
Offshore
Catches of Amberjack and Cobia were reported at Caloundra wide, while Amberjack and Tuskfish made up the bulk of the catches at the Barwon Banks.
Noosa
Noosa is seeing plenty of Jewfish action at the moment, with 62mm Pro Lure Clone Prawns and Holt Production Prawns doing the damage. We've had reports of Flathead, Bream and Whiting from the mouth to the Frying Pan. There's also been Tailor around the mouth, caught on ganged pilchards.
Maroochy
Catches of Jewfish, Flathead and Tailor have been reported from the mouth, with Trevally still being caught from the ski run to the Cod Hole on the incoming tide. Some nice sized Whiting are still about, with live beach worms continuing to be the best bait option.
Caloundra
Bream, Flathead and Tailor have been reported over the past week, with the Passage delivering plenty of fish.
Beach
If you're heading to the beach to wet a line, look for gutters. Most are holding fish in good numbers. Some nice sized Bream and Whiting catches have been reported, with the odd Jewfish and Tailor also on the chew.
If you’ve driven past this week, you might have noticed some building works happening along our row of shops. Repairs are being done to the roof, and while the scaffolding out the front is making it look like we are under construction, we are open! We've got plenty of bait options in store, including live beach worms, so make sure to drop in and get prepared for a great weekend of fishing!
Tight lines,
Trent & Corinne
